Quilceda Creek

A historic Napa Valley estate influenced by European know-how

The Tofanelli family’s estate vineyards are considered to be among Napa’s finest and most beautiful. The family has been organically farming their non-irrigated vineyards near the town of Calistoga since 1929 and is one of the consistently reliable sources of quality grapes for major producers such as Turley Wine Cellars and Neyers, who create "single vineyard" wines with Zinfandel from this estate. The Tofanellis also vinify a limited production of their own superb wines to optimally control all stages of production. Their wines are elegant, complex, and pure with lots of personality marked by an influence of Old World winemaking traditions.

Calistoga is located in the northernmost part of Napa Valley. The surrounding Mayacamas mountains shape the climate of this sub-appellation. Although this section of Napa is sunnier than the southern part of the valley, the altitude of the Tofanelli vineyards allows for large temperature variations, which encourage optimal aroma development. The efforts required to work the vineyards are colossal and the Tofanelli family’s winemaking philosophy is respected and appreciated by the major producers in the region.
