Made with 100% Nerello Mascalese, the Reseca is Gulfi’s only wine from the Etna area. The Poggio vineyard covers 2.5 hectares of terraced lava. In this area the climate is cooler and because of its northern exposure, the temperature variations between day and night are pronounced. The vines, more than a century old and with very low yields, give exceptional fruit with all the character of the Mount Etna terroir. The wine should be aged a few years in the cellar to enjoy all its complexity.
Ruby coloured, Reseca is an honest wine, authentic and full of character. Red fruit, currant, almond, hazelnut and pebble dust are present on the nose. Its straight palate imparts elegant flavours of red fruit, cassis and spice.

The majority of the vineyards are located in south-eastern Sicily and the best vineyards consist of Gobeletpruned bush vines. An organic approach produces the best wines and is essential to obtain a viticulture that is in synergy with the environment, according to the owner, Vito Catania.
